Eating out in Muscat is a fascinating experience. The Kargeen Cafe is one of the most interesting. "Kargeen" translated from Arabic is The Wooden Cottage. It is a lovely outdoor restaurant which comes alive at night.
You really feel like you are in another world when you come here.
Sitting on Arabic cushions and chairs surrounded by fountains, trees and hanging lanterns is one of the most peaceful places to be. You feel like you have gone back to another time. Of course moments of modernity take over when you can reserve a garden "tent" which are table and chairs surrounded with heavy plastic curtains into which air conditioning is blown in!
My favorite food here is the Arabic mixed grill which comes inside freshly heated bread. This will be one of the first places we eat on our return. Perhaps hubby will be eat there next week!
