Our road trip was a success! As it turned out it was the day to spot goats all along the road rather than my beloved camels. We spotted 2 sets of camels and their riders on the drive but we had nowhere to stop safely and my camera wasnt quick enough to capture the moment! Goats on the otherhand were plentiful and the road signs were correct to warm us of danger. As we crossed the border a herd came running across the road in front of us!
Literally roads have been cut through the rough mountains. It is amazing to view such rugged beauty and how easy it is to travel to the border country now. The main danger apart from hitting a goat or camel is falling rocks. Thankfully the two lane road makes it a little safer to avoid the rocks.
The one thing that amazed me on this trip was how trees grown randomly in the midst of what looks like rubble and desert!
It only took a little over three hours to reach the border. My Sweet and I had to have a retina scan before we could enter the U.A.E!
Half an hour later we were back on our way home. I did manage to capture a couple of camels as we drove home but the speed and lack of a good camera made it a little disappointing.
The Kiddos weren't so excited by the scenery or animals! But the drive was kept less boring for them as we passed through many roundabouts (circles). They are always interesting and make good landmarks to know how close it is to home. But I'll blog them on another day! My Arabian Life is never dull. I feel so blessed to be here, to have these weird and wonderful experiences, and to get to share them with you.
