40 things I love about Oman #21 Sand Dunes

There is a region in Oman called the Wahiba Sands. It is an area of almost 5000 square miles located in the interior of Oman. I love the contrast of this photo. Somehow, there should be camels coming over the crest of these dunes, not SUV's! The Wahiba are an Omani nomadic tribe that can be found still roaming this desert with their camels. Now that would be a wonderful scene to photograph.
The color of the sands are unique and depending on the season, the patterns can be quite breathtaking. It is a place that our family has not had the joy of visiting yet, but we are looking forward, one day, to seeing this with our own eyes, rather than other people's photos!
