I love how the highways have such great entrances and exits as you pass through what would have been the ancient city gates.. This is the Muscat city gate which has been restored from times past. Instead of camels and traders, we now have 4x4 SUV's! Oman has a great ability to preserve historical sites while allowing the modern to exist without overwhelming the ancient.
