Shipment arrives!

Yeah! Finally after 19 months of living in other people's houses we are NOMADS no MORE! The great thing about the shipment arriving, was that it made it to our house before Eid. Eid is the holiday here that comes after the month of Ramadan ends and it lasts for several days. Had the shipment not come when it did, it could have been another week before we had our things.

Nothing ever seems normal here..our shipment is arriving with the Police following! For a moment it seemed like we might now get our things. The driver was stopped and a lot of arm waving went on. I think the driver was not allowed to drive this heavy load on this side street, but all was resolved and the Police let him continue to our house!

The driver and the guys who unload the truck began more hand waving! Apparently our container is behind the cab when it should have been the last one loaded. Someone else's container is now blocking our container being opened!

Thankfully a solution was found! Not the easiest of ways to unload for the guys in yellow shirts but they did it without complaining. Problem solved.

Two hours later the truck was empty and our house in a chaos of boxes!
The Kiddos went crazy opening every box and the screams of excitement of long forgotten toys and books was priceless. The dust from the last desert place seemed to be in everything, so its going to take time to wash things. But time is something we have lots of, so it's all good.


My days are busy now with trying to find all the homeschool books and lessons. I have found a lot of things I need to get started. My goal had been to start school mid August, so we are only a couple weeks behind. I will be glad to get into a routine again, as will the Kiddos. My Sweet has had this week off from teaching for Eid, so it's all worked out perfect.
I am thankful for so many things. The simple things like eating together as a family at a table again. Being able to put clothes into a closet instead of a suitcase. Cooking. And the family all together-that's the best part.
