Ramadan Ramblings..day 5

Nothing related to Ramadan today except we had to venture out in the heat. The temperature has been dropping but the humidity is rising so it may only be 39 degrees but the heat index today said it felt like 54! That's 129 Fahrenheit.
I can't even begin to describe how hot that feels. But I'll try! 

• Sunglasses fog up from leaving the cool house to the heat outside.
• There is no air to breathe. 
• When you do take a deep breath it is like breathing hairdryer air!
• It takes 15 minutes for the car air conditioning to reach a comfortable temperature and by that time the deodorant has given up working.

Venturing out is on a need basis. Today we had to say goodbye to our beloved alley cat. We have only had him 9 months but he had a fatal condition quite common among the alley cat population here. There is one vet in the city and they were kind and in the end put him out of his misery.

There are only two breeds of cat here-Persians which cost over $500 or free street cats which most refer to as alley cats.

Alley cats are common in Arabia

Alley cats hang around the dumpsters scavenging for food. The fortunate ones get rescued from their street life and end up in homes like ours.

They are quite unique with long legs and enlarged ears-but we rescued two nonetheless. The boy died, and the girl still lives. Not the happiest of days in our home today.
