Ramadan Ramblings..day 2

My Sweet is now on vacation. We were planning on a September holiday time but sometimes you don't always have a say in how things go. So for now, we are on holiday-its the first time in 3 years that we have had an actual vacation. It's too expensive to go anywhere since we are saving up for a trip back to the States next summer.
We might get to spend a few days away from home but for now we are enjoying all being together.
It's the simple things, like having help preparing dinner, not having to drive everywhere myself and playing games each night with the kiddos.
It's simply too hot to go out and do anything active even if it wasn't Ramadan but we are trying to find some creative day trips out.

Going to the mall is one of the kiddos favorite things to do but during this month all the food shops/restaurants/ice cream places/coffee shops are all closed during daylight hours. Yes, even chains like McDonalds and Starbucks are closed until the sun sets and the Iftar call to prayer is heard.

So we will probably make some homemade treats and some special dinners since we can't eat out.
After dark, the whole city comes alive and it's busy, crowded and traffic is pretty bad. Looking forward to another stay-at-home family night..
