And this is normal?

Sunrise from our house!

Some days this place is just plain weird!
We finally broke down and got a drill with some of our Christmas money from the relatives so that we could get some curtains up. We have given up on the box from Kuwait that never came ever actually coming-that was where the drill charger was along with some school books and other things which I am sure we will eventually miss!
Turns out the walls in our house are made with cheap cement, so when my Sweet drilled into them, chunks of plaster just fell out of the wall leaving holes that the rods wouldn't screw into! My Sweet was able to find some parts of the wall that were less crumbly and we got curtains up in our bedroom-yippeee! On a roll we decided to keep going and hang some more in the dining room. Problem #1 the walls are uneven so measuring from the ceiling doesn't work. Problem #2 the walls in the dining room crumble as well! Annoyance #3 the curtains we bought (which were not that cheap) turn out to be 2 inches difference in length! Raaaaar! At this point we are glad to be able to block the light coming in and returning things here would be more complicated than puting up with odd length curtains!

Having a darker bedroom is supposed to help us sleep better. The good news is that the curtains did block the sunrise which wakes us before 6 each morning. As it turns out we were awake several times in the night as our driveway which is nicely paved seems to be the new hang out place for youths and their cars all through the night! Several cars appeared and parked in our drive throughout the night and these boys were just sitting on the hoods of the cars acting like it was their house! Hope this was a one off and not a regular event. So, tired, and a little frustrated today.

Not even mentioning the visa saga which continues. Okay, so I have to mention it! The PRO who is responsible for going to the visa office and getting the passports stamped with the resident visa, just cant seem to get around to it. Everything has been approved so there should be no more delays. He holds our passports in the hope that one of these days he will get it done. So each time the tourist visa expires, we have to request the passports back. Partly our error and his we didn't get them back in time and so we overstayed out visit visa. Can someone say BIG FINE for each day we overstayed!! Today the PRO is supposed to be making the trip to the visa office today-we shall see! Enshalla!
