The last time we lived here we didn't get the opportunity to explore this land. So this time around we are getting the chance little by little to get out and see some of the region. We had a friend come visit last month, so it was the perfect opportunity to see more of the land we love. The temperatures have been crazy hot, so we did some sightseeing in short trips. This day was all about the magnificent mountains. Not as green as "home" but stunning all the same...
Many of the roads here have been carved through the mountains. This is one side of the road..

This is the other side of the road! Stunning..But how to get to that small piece of secluded beach??!
There is so little rain in the capital city, maybe 3 times a year, so it's amazing how these little plants and trees are sustained.
There is so much to see in this desert land..more tomorrow..
