Broken stuff!

It's been quite the week...
This week in all the busyness and the need for my kitchen to run smoothly, it seems it was not meant to be!
The day we were having a big social event at our house I managed to drop the stone part to my crock pot on the unforgiving tile floor. The floor won. Not the best start to the day as I was making crock pot hot chocolate that night. Thankfully my Sweet managed to get his buddy to secretly bring me a new one that day! Happy early birthday to me!
Then I dropped the big cupcake container which I use to transport goodies for the Cupcake Club. Again my birthday came early and a new one appeared!

On Christmas Day the drains to the kitchen decided to fill up and not drain to the outside. A lovely smell!

The kitchen floor drains!

Water here comes from tanks that are in each room. So our kitchen water heater decided it was time to corrode and leak.

So not only did we not have working drains, there was no water either.
It was quite funny boiling kettles, pouring them into a basin, washing and then draining everything in the outside drain. The funny lasted a few basins later..

The lovely outside drains!

We are living in an older house so things will need to be replaced. Its just part of life here. Thankfully the landlord sent his handyman within a couple of days, so we now have working drains and a new water heater.

Yeah for the new water heater!

We were bought a new cooker/stove recently and this week it decided to leak gas and cut out ever time the oven door was opened! Thankfully we were able to keep our old cooker which we were very thankful for on Christmas Day!
Most people cook with gas here. It is not directly piped to the house but comes in big bottles that sit outside!

To top our week off, the water has been cut off in our area! We thought it was maybe because the previous tenants didn't settle their water bill, but no, the water has been cut off..no idea for how long!
So it will be an interesting day with no water! Please no-one come to visit..dishes needing washed, clothes needing washed..thankfully the electricity is still on!
